Roseville's Home for Custom Shutters, Drapery & Shades

Rosevilles Home-Owners Are Our Community

Roseville is where it all started, and it's still where every project in the region begins — whether the home being measured is three miles away or thirty. Our design studio sits right here in town, stocked with the actual fabrics, shutter samples, shade mechanisms and hardware finishes that end up in homes across the Sacramento area.

Since 1990, Roseville has been home base for a design and installation team that's grown alongside the city itself — from its older, established neighborhoods near downtown to newer developments like Fiddyment Farm, Westpark and Stoneridge.

A City Built in Layers, Window by Window

Few cities in the region show off as many distinct building eras in one place as Roseville does. Original homes near Vernon Street and the historic downtown core have smaller, more traditional windows, often with deep original trim. A few miles out, homes built in the 1990s and early 2000s bring larger picture windows and vaulted ceilings, and the newest developments push that further still with expansive great-room glass designed to flood a space with light.

That range is exactly why we don't lead with a product — we lead with the window and the room around it. A downtown craftsman with a narrow double-hung window needs a completely different design conversation than a two-story great room in a newer Roseville subdivision, even if the homeowner's end goal (better light control, more privacy, a finished look) is the same.

The Studio Advantage of Being Right Here

Because our studio is located in Roseville rather than a satellite showroom hours away, local homeowners have an unusually easy time getting hands-on with materials before committing to anything. Swinging by after work to feel a fabric sample or compare two shutter finishes side by side is simple when the studio is a short drive rather than a special trip.

This proximity also means faster turnaround on remeasures, fabric reorders and any adjustments that come up during a project — something homeowners further out in the region don't always have the luxury of.

Drapery Designed Around Roseville's Range of Architecture

Whether a home has a modest window that calls for a tailored, understated panel or a soaring great-room window built for a dramatic drape, custom drapery is built to the specific dimensions of the opening rather than a standard size. Fabric weight, lining, pleat style and hardware are worked out together as one decision, matched to both the scale of the window and the character of the home around it.

Some homeowners want drapery that opens and closes as part of daily life, others want it purely for the visual softness it adds to a room, and many combine it with a shade for layered light control. Motorized tracks are available for panels that are large, tall or simply inconvenient to operate by hand.

Shutters That Match the Home's Era

Shutters read very differently depending on the home they're installed in, and Roseville's architectural range makes that especially clear. In an older home near downtown, a wood shutter with a frame profile suited to original trim tends to look the most intentional. In a newer subdivision home with taller ceilings and larger openings, a composite shutter with a different louver size might make more practical and visual sense.

Getting a shutter to sit properly — flush against the frame, free of gaps, tilting smoothly — depends on precise measuring, which matters even more in a city where window sizes and depths vary as much as Roseville's do.

Roller and Solar Shades Suited to Roseville Summers

Roseville summers run long and hot, and homes with west-facing windows or large sliding doors often deal with intense late-afternoon sun for a good part of the year. A solar-rated roller shade can meaningfully cut down on heat and glare while keeping most of the outdoor view intact, while a light-filtering fabric offers a softer touch for rooms that don't need heavy sun control.

For bedrooms, media rooms or any space that benefits from a darker environment, a blackout fabric or dual-shade system provides flexibility — full coverage when it's needed, an open feel the rest of the time.

Roman Shades With Fabric-Forward Detail

Roman shades bring warmth and texture to smaller or secondary windows without the scale of full drapery, making them a natural fit for breakfast nooks, home offices and powder rooms throughout Roseville homes. Options range from a tailored or relaxed fold to a waterfall style or natural woven-wood texture, with lining choices from gentle light filtering to complete blackout.

Since the way a Roman shade folds depends on both fabric weight and window width, each one is designed specifically for its opening rather than sized off a generic chart.

Motorization Woven Into Everyday Life

Roseville homeowners increasingly treat motorization less as a luxury add-on and more as a practical solution for windows that are tall, oddly placed or just used often enough that manual operation gets old fast. Shades and drapery can be controlled from a wall switch, a phone app or an integrated smart-home system.

For anyone building new or taking on a larger remodel in Roseville, it's worth mapping out wiring and power requirements early in the process — something our team can walk through before walls and finishes are locked in.

Extending the Living Space Outdoors

Covered patios, California rooms and backyard entertaining spaces are common throughout Roseville, and most of them face at least a few hours of strong afternoon sun. A zipper-track shade, cable-guided screen or fully motorized retractable system can all help make these spaces usable well into the evening by cutting heat and glare while keeping air moving.

Each exterior shading system is custom-built to the specific opening, so the right choice depends on the size and sun exposure of your particular patio or outdoor room.

Come See the Studio in Person

There's no substitute for seeing and touching materials before making a decision that will be part of your home for years. Our Roseville studio is set up for exactly that — full-size shutter displays, drapery fabric books, working shade samples and motorization demos, all in one place.

A studio visit is often the fastest way to move a project forward, particularly for drapery, where fabric color and texture can look noticeably different in person than they do in a photo.

In-Home Consultations for Larger Roseville Projects

For projects spanning several rooms or an entire home, we'll come to you. During an in-home visit, we walk through each window together, talk through your goals for the space, and take the precise measurements needed to prepare a detailed proposal — without any commissioned sales pressure.

Why Local Experience Still Matters

Choosing window coverings involves more than picking a fabric or a finish. Mounting depth, frame clearance, light gaps and motor placement can all affect the final result in ways that aren't obvious until installation day — and those details shift depending on the age and construction style of the home.

More than three decades spent working across every era of Roseville home has taught us where these issues commonly show up, and how to plan around them before they become a problem. The result, whether the project starts in the studio or in your living room, is a window treatment that looks like it was built for the space — because it was.
